September 2019 Newsletter

Due to the Labor Day Holiday the
Next General Meeting is September 9, 2019 at 7:30 PM

● BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO THE RANGE. Thank you to all our volunteers who put in time over the summer. We had some challenges this summer with the tractor at the outdoor range and some challenges with staffing matches, but more people are using the range than last year, which we like to see.

● The Western New York Outdoor Pistol League is wrapping up this month. The remaining matches are as follows:

● We will be hosting the Annual Club Picnic at the outdoor range on Sunday September 15, 2019 beginning at 12:30pm. Before the picnic begins, we will host a Steel Plate Challenge Shoot, so bring your duty gun and plenty of ammo. No shooting will be allowed during the picnic, however!. The picnic is a fun event, intended for all members, their spouses and families. As usual, the club will be providing dogs, burgers, and sausage, and sweet corn. Traditionally, this is a BYOB or bring a small dish to pass event. This is a fun mixer and all are encouraged to come out. Be sure to bring folding chairs to sit around the fire pit!

● Winter shooting leagues are now forming. We will participate in the Niagara Frontier Pistol League and Suburban Pistol League. Those leagues will begin in October and practices will begin in September, every Thursday and Tuesday starting at 7:30 pm.

● The Board of Directors elected to cancel our participation in the New York State Outdoor Pistol Championship on September 21 and 22. However, we still need people to help mow and trim grass, to help trim bushes and trees, and mow the lawn at the indoor range too. Those needing to contribute volunteer hours also have the youth program starting this month. Please consider giving back.

Good Shooting,
Peter Vasilion,
President
