Youth Shooting Update: 10/8/19

Our first session of the new season was on September 27th and attendance was very good. We had three new shooters plus several of our past shooters attend. As the summer turns to fall (and turns to winter) we know that attendance will continue to increase as it always does, so we’re optimistic for another very successful season.

We have submitted a grant request again this year to the NRA Foundation. The Foundation has been extremely generous to us for two years in a row and we’re optimistic that the continued success of the program, combined with the great support from our Board and members, will help us to receive another grant in 2020.

Thanks to Mark Martzolf for organizing our group to be at the Elma Conservation Club on September 28th to promote our youth shooting program. Mark, along with Tim Colf, Jim Weiberg and Mark’s son, all were on hand to let youngsters take a few shots down range with our air rifles. We’ve already received inquiries from those who attended regarding coming to our program.

Thanks very much to Bill Hilts, Jr. for his great article in last week’s Buffalo News. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, here is a link: https://buffalonews.com/2019/10/02/buffalo-niagara-falls-outdoors-recreation-hunting-permits-dec-things-to-do-listings-news-2019/  Bill’s article has generated inquiries already regarding the program and we expect new attendees as a result.

Our next session is this coming Friday, October 11th @ 6:30pm. New shooters, as always, please arrive @ 6pm for safety and firearms orientation.

We can always use extra help from our members. Anyone who can help us out, please be at the range around 6:15pm.
