December 2019 Newsletter

THE NEXT GENERAL MEETING WILL BE MONDAY DECEMBER 2, 2019, AT 7:30 PM.

● The Election of Officers for 2020 will take place at the December meeting. The official ballot is enclosed with this newsletter. You may vote in person or by mail-in/absentee ballot. Ballots mailed in must be in an envelope bearing your return address. Members may only cast one ballot.

To send in mail-in ballots, mail them to Ten X, PO Box 226, Lancaster, NY 14086. Ballots must be received by Friday November 29 to count!

● Dues for 2020 are officially payable as of January 1. There will be a motion to raise dues to $90.00 per year effective January 1 to be voted on by the membership. Also, any member who did not contribute time to the club, and who did not obtain an exemption or are otherwise excused, is subject to the assessment of $50.00 which will be “billed” separately. Ten X Members Team Up To Get Work Done

Brisk temperatures and rain the day before were no match for a well coordinated band of Club Members who took up the outdoor range work session on Sunday October 13. Much was accomplished. The next General Membership meeting will be Monday June 3, 2019 at 7:30 pm at 853 Ransom Road, Lancaster.

● The June 3, 2019, meeting will be our last meeting until September barring any emergencies or special meeting. If you are sponsoring a prospective member, please get their membership application to a Board Member, preferably Al Hopkins, ASAP so we can act on it at the June meeting.

● Tuesdays and Thursdays continue to be open practice nights. Steel Plate shooting is runs every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at the Outdoor Range. In the event of poor weather, the rain-date for Steel Plate will be the following week. Al Hopkins is the point of contact for Steel Plate. Precision pistol shooting practices are every Thursday at both the indoor and outdoor ranges. Bruce Matthies and Mitch Vogel are points of contact for precision pistol.

What’s On the Horizon for 2019

Albany Legislation: This is a general overview of what we expect in terms of gun legislation coming out of Albany when the legislature convenes in January. Of course, the legislative season is fluid and this list isn’t necessarily complete and can change as circumstances evolve. Given the 2 to 1 majority Democrats have in both houses, turning back anti-gun legislation this year will be formidable, if not impossible to say the least.
