I am pleased to announce that Pistol Permit Supervisor Will Fowler and Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard have agreed that when the Sheriff’s Dept is the investigating agency, applicants will no longer have to have all their character references from the same town they reside in.  We have brought this issue up to the Pistol Permit dept. on a number of occasions recently and appreciate the cooperation and action taken by Supervisor Fowler and Sheriff Howard.

To clarify, this only pertains to when the Sheriffs dept. is the investigating agency and for City, Towns or Villages with their own Police Department. This decision does not change the requirements that these municipalities have already in place.

Put our Thursday April 21 meeting, on your calender and list of important things to do.  Our active members help make a difference on this issue and we have much more to accomplish!

The meetings begin at 7 p.m. and held at the Southgate Plaza, Corner of Union and Seneca Streets in West Seneca.  Drive around to the rear of the plaza to the office building and the meetings are on the second floor in the community room.  Find out first hand what is being do to secure your 2nd Amendment Rights in New York State.

Due to the range roof collapse and the partial collapse of the range’s outer cinder block wall, the April 10 and May 15 (2011) pistol tournaments (1800 matches) are cancelled.

The Board of Directors at the Genesee Conservation League chose this course of action. The damage has been cleaned up but the repair work and rebuilding has yet to begin.
