October 2019 Newsletter

The next general meeting is October 7, 2019 at 7:30 PM at the Indoor Range

● Both the SPL and NFPL pistol leagues start this first week of October. Schedules are posted in the range and on the club website. We need new shooters! Please consider joining one or both leagues. Like bowling leagues, matches are scored on a handicap system with actual and handicap matches to be won. The first matches are as follows:

October 10 - home v. Clarence
October 15 - home v. Lockport
October 22 - home v. Frontiersmen
November 7 - away @ Alden
October 8 - away @ Polaris
October 17 - postal vs. N.Falls
October 25 - away @ Mohawk
October 31 - home vs. Pinecrest

● With much thanks to Matt Giansante, our junior program will return starting September 27. New shooters are welcome and should arrive by 6:00 for the safety orientation. Returning juniors start at 6:30pm. The planned schedule for the season is : Sep 27, Oct 11 & 25, Nov 8 & 22, Dec 13, Jan 10 & 24, Feb 14 & 28, Mar 13 & 27, April 24, and May 8. We follow the Lancaster Schools closing policy, so if Lancaster has a snow day, or if they cancel after school activities, then we will cancel. Our junior program is open to kids ages 9 and up. People having questions should contact matt@olm1.com.

● An outdoor range work party will be scheduled for October. There are a number of items that we need helpers for, including trimming the trees along the road, finishing the re-siding project. Please keep an eye on the webpage for more information.

● Thank you to all those members and significant others of members who attended the Club picnic on September 15! The picnic was well attended and a dozen of our members had fun shooting the Steel Plate Challenge before we started cooking. Oh, and the Bills won!
