Continue reading State Championship – Western Region Preliminary Results Thank you to all of the competitors who entered the June tournament, as well as to all of our Club’s volunteers who helped make the match a success. Our turnout was substantially lower than in previous years, but the weather this spring has hindered shooters’ abilities to get outdoors. The preliminary results are linked below (see the link june 2011 results). Results are only official once the NRA confirms them. The score reports are being sent in today, so those of you looking for permanent or temporary averages should have classification cards before Camp Perry starts. We will host the next 2700 tournament on August 14, 2011. As usual, competitor check-in begins at 8AM and the first shot is at 9AM. Pre-registrations are encouraged and may be made by e-mail. The tournament bulletin may be found on the site in the tournament page. Good shooting. Congratulations to all of the eighteen competitors for a well run and well-fired match. Thank you to all of the Competitors, all of our volunteers, and each person behind the scenes who contribute to the match. Congratulations, also, to all of our match winners. I believe It would either be on Tuesday, or Friday nights and we would be working toward fielding a team in one of the Light Rifle/ Sporter Rifle Disciplines. The first few weeks will serve to gauge both interest and the size of the group that we can muster. What you need to bring: a .22 Rifle, and appropriate ammo. Iron Sights, or Optics(scope) are allowed, but to fire for score, the rifle must weigh less than 7.5 pounds, (if your rifle is heavier than that, you are welcome to shoot alongside us, but cannot officially compete) Sporterifle does not need expensive equipment to participate in, and odds are, you already have own all the equipment you need. It will also help to attract new members to the club, as well as offer a good opportunity to bring your child(ren) to the club. Attendance was down eight shooters from last year with 50 guests this year. New shooters and Marksman-Class competitors remain strong. Your gunbox sticker souvenir was sent via postal mail with the match buliten. Several shooters asked about stickers from past years. Our match secretary has a few remaining stickers from previous sectionals. Email your needs to p.vasilion@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to mail one out if we have any in stock for your year. We will be hosting the New York State Indoor Pistol Championship (a 2700 match) on April 4 and 5. Those interested should surf to www.wnybullseye.com to download a copy of the program and mail in the registration ASAP.
